after moving in, i never once met or even greeted any of my neighbours, but immediately signed a lifetime lease at the new place.
i had brought everything with me that i had previously scattered across different homes, some of which were already falling apart.
i unpacked every box, moved old memories in, fixed the walls and hung up some curtains. i settled in for good. i made it feel like home and even placed a little welcome mat at the door.
but it was quiet. no curious neighbours coming by. maybe they didn't like new residents?
turns out i had my new home set to make_discoverable: false – because i wanted to move all my stuff in as quiet as possible, not raising any negative attention by disturbing others. after all, all i wanted was a quiet place for myself. i didn't want any attention.
but i guess it just took me a while to realise that being discoverable isn't the same as wanting attention.
